Benefit:
The centre is well run and the activities invaluable to student personal development. I have used the centre for students in KS4 to gain their trident personal challenge certificate, combined with geography coursework.Students love the opportunity to try new activities including high ropes, assault course and climbing as well as big zipper and archery. The teambuilding activities encourage students to work together develop their social skills and raise self esteem. it is really great to see the students acheive things which previously they would have considered to be beyond them. Staff are excellent at supporting students in environment where challenge by choice is the order of the day. In my experience of using this center for over 10 years there are very few students who do not rise to the challenge!
I have also used the centre to foster teambuilding in year 7 for many years and this has been fondly recalled by many students now in KS4.
With a management centre on site Hilltop also offers opportunities for staff training days.
