Summary:
A residential at Hornsea is a trip of a lifetime for Primary pupils, particularly for those who do not gain such experiences with their parents. The Centre has been open for 70+ years (in various guises) and it still gets people coming back to visit the centre they remember so fondly from theri childhood
Venue:
Hornsea
A good location with much to offer in the local area - excellent local Museum (Victorian period with resources for children to dress up), Honeysuckle Farm (set up for school visits), the beach (coastal erosion studies) and the Mere (good for bird feeding/spotting)There are excellent country walks from the Centre, which adjoins a disused railway, rich with wildlife. The Centre has a wild area with orchids and a badger sett. Or it can be used as a base to go further afield (eg. Hull Museums or The Deep, Scarborough, Filey, Beverley, Bempton....)

Need to be aware that buildings are separate units ie. shower block separate from dorms. But that has never put children off. Its part of the adventure.
