Town:
Girona
Summary:
Taking a trip of students with physiacl difficulties and medical conditions is difficult and stressful at most times, also very risky. We found Fundaccio 60 through a blog on the web. The apartments are purpose built for people with physical difficultes, large wet rooms, hoists, adjustable beds and an enclosed pool with hoist access. The staff are fanatastic, some speak english and worked with us every step of the way, offering solutions for every problem we raised. They researched doctors hospitals, and there was even the possibility of an airlift to Gerona should a major medical emergency occur. They arranged speciallist transport with tail lift, venues to visit and met us at the airport.
The facilities for wheelchair users at San Antonio were fantastic. Water wheelchairs hoists and lifguards to supervise our students in the Med. The resorts were very disabled friendly, you could even hire a wheelchair on the main shooping street
A medical emergency did occur and staff from Fundaccio 60 were true to their word, arranged medical attention, acted as interpreters andgot us to the hospital and could be contacted at anytime night or day.
Should you wish to be adventurous, this a fanastice venue.
We left our risk assessment with them. Please feel free to amend to meet your parties needs.
