What makes this a great venue for School group Fun or Educational Visits?

The BugWorld Experience is the UK's first Interactive Insectarium, allowing visitors to see the world through a bugs eyes, testing their bravery, wit and skill along the way. This exciting and vibrant environment, along with the expert knowledge of our staff makes the BugWorld Experience the ideal place for children to enjoy a fun, educational day out learning about the wonderful world of invertebrates and the effect they have on our world!

What are the Curriculum Topics or Benefit to the students from a visit?

Various curriculum topics are covered in learning sessions. Flexi-sessions are also available which can be tailored to meet the individual school's learning objectives.

What are the activities?

Children can explore our themed zones, either in their own time or with the aid of one of our expert guides. From a tropical rainforest to a savannah to the every day British home, children can learn about the bugs that inhabit each of these environments, taking part in interactive challenges along the way. The brave will also have the opportunity to handle some of their favourite creatures while learning fascinating facts from our presenters. Children even have the opportunity to taste one or two insect delicacies if they so wish. All of this, plus tailored education sessions delivered by a qualified teacher.

What is the age range of the activities?

The BugWorld Experience is suitable for all ages. Education sessions can be tailored to suit the age and ability of the students.

What are the minimum and maximum group sizes and the free Teacher Ratio?

Minimum of 10 students to qualify for educational group rates. Maximum of 30 students per education sessions. Larger groups can be accommodated by booking multiple time slots. 1 adult is admitted free of charge for every 10 paying children. All other adults are charged at the discounted group rate.

Do you have or how do you arrange risk assessment?

Risk assessments are available from our education department. Please contact Rachel Taphouse on 0151 708 4938 or rachel.taphouse@bugworldexperience.co.uk. Alternatively, arrangements can be made for a representative of the school to visit BugWorld to complete their own risk assessment. Please contact Rachel to arrange this.

Do you offer Teacher familiarisation days?

Once a booking has been made arrangements can be made for one teacher from each class to visit BugWorld to complete the necessary assessments. Please contact Rachel to arrange a suitable time to do this.

What facilities are there for school groups for food and drink, shop etc?

A gift shop with a wide range of low priced items. We have a vending machine on site, with numerous food and drink outlets surrounding us on the Albert Dock.

Is specific clothing required?

The BugWorld Experience is an indoor attraction, however our location at the Albert Dock is often windy and wet in the winter months so warm, waterproof clothing is advisable.

Do you have first aid on site?

Yes - we have several first aiders on site.

Are there any restrictions on photos, copyright etc?

Visitors are welcome to take photographs throughout the attraction.

School Group Pricing

£3.25 per student (aged 5-16 years) including FREE education session 1 adult is admitted free of charge for every 10 students. All additional adults are charged at the group rate of £9.25. Our full group pricing policy can be found here: more informationinformation
